This trip was my second time in Bolivia. I wanted to be based in a single place so I could have the chance to interact with the locals and get to know the people and the culture. Being a Spaniard I started feeling at home almost straight away. As a family physician I volunteered at the Cerro Verde Health Center but I was soon invited to visit a broad range of facilities from urban to rural and remote. From the highlands of Cochabamba to its tropical area, the Chapare; wherever I went I was welcomed, lodged and fed. I made many wonderful friends along the way.

I found Sustainable Bolivia to be a friendly and supportive environment from day one. The staff facilitated every single step in my volunteering experience and I soon felt warmly integrated in the house. I shared great times with those who are now good friends. I feel I was very privileged to spend six weeks with everyone at Sustainable Bolivia.

Wherever I may be, a part of my heart will always remain in Cocha.
